This internship is an opportunity to gain experience improving sales conversions and visitor experience at a small attraction on the Virginia Beach boardwalk. The intern will work directly with full time staff, but will have the opportunity to work independently and manage projects. The intern’s projects will directly impact visitor experience, as well as the museum’s daily operations and revenue. Applicants should have an interest or background in hospitality, tourism, or other related fields.


  • Conduct observational research regarding guest experience and engagement, as well as sales conversion rates
  • Develop surveys to measure customer satisfaction rates
  • Analyze survey data and make recommendations to improve guest experience
  • Develop and implement methods to consistently increase sales conversion rates
  • Provide excellent customer service within the museum and gift shop

The ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Be flexible and able to multi-task
  • Show competency with Microsoft Excel and other data management systems
  • Be a creative thinker, not afraid to offer up ideas
  • Have the ability to work independently
  • Work efficiently and maintain deadlines
