Internship Reflection

Interning at the Virginia Beach Surf & Rescue Museum this semester as a Content Creator has been such an amazing opportunity for me. I’ve really had the chance to grow as a writer. Being able to take time to work on my craft while gaining essential skills has been the most rewarding part of my experience.

During this internship, I learned how to develop my writing skills to target a specific audience, in this case people interested in the Virginia Beach area. It was challenging at first, but I wouldn’t change anything about it. I learned that as Content Creator, you aren’t always going to be able to create things that revolve around your specific interests. Instead, you write what best serves the organization or business you’re working with.

Kasey and William really enhanced my writing confidence, and I couldn’t be more proud of the work I created for the museum. This was a 10 out of 10 internship experience for me, and I feel that I got everything I was seeking to get from it. I’m going to miss everything about interning for the Virginia Beach Surf & Rescue Museum dearly, and I’m so grateful that I was chosen to be a part of it.
