Rum to the Rescue – Bootleggers & Moonshiners in the 757
Welcome to the raucous, riotous, amazing history of alcohol in Hampton Roads. Rub elbows with bootleggers, moonshiners, and rum-runners that kept the booze flowing through Prohibition. You’ll meet the bad folks, the good folks, and the average folks that carved out a living in an outlaw era. From the police chases on land, to the Coast Guard chases on water, you’ll see the 757 in a whole new way. Travel through time from the Virginia ABC laws to how Hampton Roads has become a Craft Beer and small distillery destination. Exhibit opens December 1.
