This internship is an opportunity to gain experience in social media and brand management at a small nonprofit. The intern will work directly with full time staff to manage and grow the museum’s social media accounts. The intern’s projects will directly impact the organization’s ability to reach our audiences, as well as the development of future social media strategies. Applicants should have an interest or background in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or other related fields.


  • Produce regular content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat accounts
  • Schedule and post content using Hootsuite
  • Analyze data from posts to recommend changes to social media strategy
  • Develop and implement new ways to interact with and grow our target audiences
  • Manage connections with other organizations via social media
  • Create visual content for emails, blog posts, and other marketing, as needed
  • Occasionally assist with the creation of video-based projects and fundraising

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a creative thinker, not afraid to offer up ideas for new ways to reach our audience
  • Have experience with photo editing and content creation
  • Be self-motivated and well organized
  • Be able to work well independently
  • Have experience using Hootsuite (preferred)
