Summary:

This internship is an opportunity to gain experience managing, supporting, and leading tours at a small museum. The intern will work directly with full time staff, but will have the opportunity to work independently and manage projects. The intern’s projects will focus on running and improving the museum’s Ghost Walk program. Applicants should have an interest or background in history, education, museum studies, theatre, art history, or other related fields

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and schedule tour guides for the Ghost Walk program
  • Lead tours and programs for school-aged, intergenerational, and adult audiences
  • Create and analyze reports for tour attendance and costs
  • Create and implement additional material and practices for tours to improve Ghost Walk
  • 40+ weekly onsite hours are required for this internship, including regular nights and weekends

The ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing
  • Be flexible, well organized, and able to multi-task
  • Be a creative thinker, not afraid to offer up ideas
  • Have experience providing excellent customer service
