This summer, a group of Teen Volunteers joined our team. They helped at events, talked with visitors in the galleries, worked behind-the-scenes, and even ran the front desk. Noah is a soft-spoken young man who’s friendly, interested in history, and always shows up on time, willing to help with the day’s project. Here’s what he had to say about his time with us so far.
“My favorite part about volunteering at the Virginia Beach Surf & Rescue Museum is that there is more than once place to work – like at the front desk or around the museum. Getting to volunteer here helps with socializing with others better, because you can interact with visitors by just asking a few simple questions. Volunteering here is also a learning experience because you learn about the history of Virginia Beach.”
Teen Volunteers Sophia, Arias, and Noah.
We’re glad that Noah had a chance to fine tune his socializing skills and learn more about how museums work this summer. We’re looking forward to having him continue as a volunteer this fall.
